The GP2D120 has identical electronics as the GP2D12, but has special lenses
which give it a shorter detection range. This sensor takes a continuous
distance reading and reports the distance as an analog voltage with a distance
range of 4cm (~1.5") to 30cm (~12"). The interface is 3-wire with power, ground
and the output voltage and requires a JST 3-pin
connector which is included with each detector package. Each package also
includes a booklet that contains specifications, describes plugging together the
connector, interfacing the detector, and application notes describing using the
GP2D120.

2. GP2D02

This sensor takes a distance
reading when enabled and reports the distance as a byte-value cooresponding to the distance
between 10cm (~4") to 80cm (~30"). The
interface is 4-wire and requires a JST connector which is included with each
detector. Also included in the package is a diode
required for interfacing the detector to TTL/CMOS logic. Controlling
the detector is done by lowering the input line, waiting
for ~70ms, and then clocking the detector 8 times to
read out the distance measurment on the output line.
Each package includes a booklet that describes plugging
together the connector, interfacing the detector to
logic and the protocol used to take measurements using
the GP2D02.

3. GP2D05

The interface between the microprocessor
and the detector is a logic interface with some timing constraints.This sensor uses a variable resistor
to determine a distance threshold. The interface
is 4-wire and requires a JST connector which is included with each
detector. Controlling the detector is done by
lowering the input line, waiting for 28-56ms, and then
checking for a logic 0 or 1 on the output line.
Zero means no object is within the threshold distance,
One means that there is an object present.

8. Sharp IS471F IR Detector Kit
This package contains all the parts for making an infrared proximity
detector. The IS471F modulates an IR LED and detects the modulated IR light
reflected back from a nearby object. Once assembled, the sensor can detect an
object from 2 to 3 inches away. (Performance will vary with the reflectivity of
the object and the ambient lighting.)
